Future Builders Initiative (FBI) is a non-profit and development-focused organization committed to fostering positive change and sustainable development across various domains, including youth & women’s development, educational advancement, governance & democracy, and peacebuilding & human rights. Founded in 2015 as a student association, it metamorphosed into an established non-profit organization in July 2021. Our guiding philosophy is rooted in being youth-led, technology-driven, and socially inclusive, where our dedicated team strives to recognize and address the interconnectedness of these critical thematic areas. We firmly believe that true and lasting progress necessitates a comprehensive approach that considers the intricate relationships among these key sectors.

Our organization stands as a beacon of positive change, dedicated to empowering individuals, fostering sustainable growth, and igniting transformative impact. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities of the present, we remain steadfast in our commitment to shaping a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Over the years, we have implemented various projects and programmes across all our thematic areas. Members of our team have participated various development-focused projects and projects like the YIAGA Africa’s #WatchingTheVote Election Observation in 2018 (Osun Election), 2019 (General Election) and 2022 (Osun Election). We’ve also volunteered and actively participated in youth inclusion campaigns like the #NotTooYoungRun (YIAGA 2018), #ReadyToRun (YIAGA2019), BreakTheHold (RNVi 2019) and #VoteNotFight (KDI & YoungStars 2018-2019).

In 2021, we initiated the #BeADecider Campaign to encourage citizens to participate in the Continuous Voters Registration in Osun State in preparation for the 2022 Gubernatorial Election. The campaign employs six methodologies: – Advocacy, Research, Partnership, Engagement, Training, and Sensitization to actualize its objectives. Our work and engagement through the campaign were focused on promoting civic education, voters’ sensitization, and the mobilization of young people in Nigeria to participate actively in the electoral process, which aims to increase youth participation in the electoral process by encouraging voter registration and civic education.

Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to take ownership of their own development and become agents of positive change. Our team includes experts in a range of fields, including development, education, governance, conflict management, and community development. We draw on their diverse backgrounds and experiences to inform our approach and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. We work closely with communities, individuals, and stakeholders to identify their needs and priorities and to develop programs and initiatives that are tailored to their specific context and situation. We believe in a participatory approach that engages with the people we serve to ensure that our interventions are effective and sustainable.
