Future Builders Initiative Participates in CTIP Training to Combat Human Trafficking

Future Builders Initiative (FBI) proudly participated in the Countering Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) training organized by LEAP Africa, in collaboration with USAID – US Agency for International Development and the Palladium: Make It Possible. The training, held from Tuesday, June 6th, to Thursday, June 8th, 2023, equipped FBI’s Senior Programme Manager, Oyeyemi Halimat Bisola, with valuable knowledge and strategies to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals from this heinous crime.

The CTIP training provided a crucial opportunity for participants to delve into the complexities of human trafficking and gain essential insights into effective countermeasures. Throughout the three-day training, attendees engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions led by experts in the field. They explored the various forms of trafficking, including labor exploitation, forced labor, and sex trafficking, and learned about the factors that make individuals susceptible to these crimes.

“We are delighted to have been selected for this significant CTIP training,” expressed Oyeyemi Halimat Bisola, Senior Programme Manager at Future Builders Initiative. “It has further strengthened our commitment to combatting human trafficking and making a meaningful impact in safeguarding the vulnerable.”

Human trafficking continues to be a pressing global concern, with countless lives affected by this grave violation of human rights. By participating in the training, FBI reaffirmed its dedication to taking concrete actions to counter this crime and protect those at risk.

In addition to developing a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding human trafficking, the training equipped FBI and other participating NGOs with practical tools and strategies to identify and assist victims. Attendees learned about victim support mechanisms, the importance of collaboration with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders, and the significance of public awareness campaigns in combatting trafficking.

Future Builders Initiative extends heartfelt appreciation to LEAP Africa, USAID, and the Palladium for organizing this invaluable training opportunity. The collaboration showcases the collective effort of various stakeholders in addressing human trafficking and creating a safer world for all.

With the knowledge and strategies gained from the CTIP training, FBI is determined to intensify its efforts in countering trafficking in persons and promoting community safety and well-being. The organization remains committed to building a brighter future, free from the horrors of human trafficking.

“Knowledge is power, and we are now better equipped to recognize and respond to the signs of trafficking,” said Oyeyemi Halimat Bisola. “Through our collective efforts, we will continue to raise awareness, provide support to survivors, and collaborate with law enforcement and other organizations to put an end to human trafficking in our community.”

The CTIP training marked a significant milestone in the journey of Future Builders Initiative in their fight against human trafficking. Armed with new insights and a strengthened network of like-minded organizations, FBI is prepared to create a lasting impact in the lives of those affected by trafficking and contribute to a safer and more secure society.
