Apathy2Action Campaign

Apathy2Action: Save Our Environment is a project that aims to sensitize rural communities in Osun State, Nigeria, on the need to reduce excessive plastic pet bottle usage and save their community from the hazardous consequences of plastic waste.

The campaign is a response to the increasing rate of plastic waste in the state and its adverse effects on the environment, including air, water, and soil pollution, as well as harm to human health and wildlife.

Through community engagement and awareness-raising activities, the Apathy2Action project seeks to encourage rural communities to take action and change their behaviors towards plastic pet bottle usage.

The project also aims to promote sustainable waste management practices such as recycling and upcycling, to reduce the amount of plastic waste generated and ensure that it is properly disposed of.

In collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as the state government, civil society organizations, and waste management agencies, Apathy2Action intends to create a sustainable and impactful movement towards a cleaner and healthier environment. The project hopes to empower rural communities to take ownership of their environment and create a sense of responsibility towards preserving it for future generations.

Overall, the Apathy2Action project seeks to inspire action towards environmental sustainability, raise awareness of the harmful effects of plastic waste, and foster a sense of community ownership of the environment in rural communities in Osun State.
