The “#PreachForPeace: We Are Better Together” Campaign is a community peace initiative aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and fostering tolerance, conflict management, and resolution among ethnic minorities (Hausa, Igbo, etc.) and the indigenous Yoruba people in Osun State, Nigeria. The campaign was launched in March 2023 in response to the rising levels of ethnic tension and conflict in Nigeria as a whole, which had the potential to escalate into full-blown crises.

The #PreachForPeace campaign seeks to engage community leaders, youth groups, religious organizations, and other stakeholders in promoting peace and fostering a culture of tolerance and understanding. Through targeted advocacy campaigns, public forums, and other outreach activities, the campaign aims to promote peaceful coexistence and encourage dialogue and reconciliation among the various ethnic groups in the state.

The campaign recognizes that peace and stability are essential for sustainable development and growth, and it seeks to create a platform for stakeholders to come together and address the root causes of ethnic tension and conflict. By fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility, the campaign hopes to build a more inclusive and resilient community that can withstand the challenges of ethnic diversity and promote peaceful coexistence.

Through its various activities, the #PreachForPeace campaign aims to promote conflict management and resolution skills among young people and community leaders, build trust and understanding among different ethnic groups, and create opportunities for constructive engagement and dialogue. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to create a more peaceful and prosperous Osun State, where all ethnic groups can live and work together in harmony and mutual respect.
